We’re coming home!

Together We Cope’s shuttered building at 17010 So. Oak Park Avenue in downtown Tinley Park is getting a facelift as repairs pick up some speed after a fire in November that also did extensive smoke and water damage to the office, food pantry and resale shop.

A new local contractor, Dominic Kowalczyk, owner of Construction Concepts of Illinois, has taken over renovation work after loss of the original contractor who was assigned by our insurance company.  Dominic is a longtime supporter of our mission in the south suburbs.

Some changes to the 17010 building include a new office entrance and waiting room, some improved efficiencies in our food pantry, and a fresh look to our resale shop, Nu2u.

Staff has been working from our administrative office a few blocks away since the fire, providing many client services from that location.  Our annual Back to School campaign is under way, which distributes new backpacks and school supplies to hundreds of area children in need.  TWC’s main building remains closed, and we are unable to accept any food or clothing donations there during the shutdown. We hope to welcome friends and supporters to our refurbished building by the end of summer.
