Meet Trina Arvetis, Nu2u shop manager

Trina Arvetis manages staff and volunteers at Nu2u, Together We Cope’s resale shop at 17010 South Oak Park Avenue in downtown Tinley Park. Her daily goal is to offer customers a different experience each time they visit the shop by constantly mixing in the best of new and gently used items donated at the back door of the agency.

“The selection differs each day,” she said, “because generous donors keep bringing in interesting things that other people find new and valuable to them.”

Sorting the donations is a major job at Nu2u, and that task is greatly performed by volunteers who spend a few hours each week helping out Together We Cope. Other volunteers help stock the shelves or work at the checkout counter.

Trina said items that are always in demand at Nu2u include men’s clothing and shoes, as well as gently used children’s clothing. Women’s shoes and purses also are big sellers. In the winter months, donations of coats, scarves and mittens are especially welcome. Those items can be purchased by TWC client families in need who shop with vouchers at Nu2u, and also are offered for sale to the general public to help generate income for TWC programs and services.

Contact Trina at tarvetis@togetherwecope.org for more information on donating goods, or volunteering in the shop, or just to chat! Further information on the shop is at www.nu2uresale.org.
