A hot meal for the holidays

Together We Cope’s food pantry is gearing up for the winter holidays with plans to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner fixings to as many of our client families as possible so they can celebrate the holidays at home.

Complicating this year’s program is a current shortage of meat products that is hampering TWC’s effort to provide healthy meals to the hundreds of families who seek assistance at the agency’s food pantry every week. Issues ranging from inflation to drought and wild fires have severely impacted the country’s ability to produce the beef and poultry items so high in demand every day, but especially during the holidays. Our food pantry, which has an abundant supply of staple food items like soup and pasta, has begun directing families to other pantries in the region in hopes of finding meat and poultry items.

If you’d like to help with a donation to our effort to provide the ingredients for hot meals now, or at the holidays, contact Tony Roman, pantry manager, at troman@togetherwecope.org.
