Together We Cope welcomes partnerships with local businesses, organizations and community groups in furtherance of our mission to assist local families in temporary crisis.
Community partners include corporate sponsors that fund a Together We Cope event such as our annual dinner dance, which AT&T is doing in 2010. Other such sponsors underwrite programs like Back-to-School as we help struggling families get their children ready for return to the classroom every fall. Harris Bank is one company that has been instrumental in making that effort successful. At our 2010 dinner dance we gave special recognition to Trader Joe's specialty grocery store, which helps stock our food pantry on a daily basis. We partner with local organizations like schools, churches and service groups that donate generously to a specific project. At our 2009 dinner dance, for example, we honored Sertoma Club, an organization that consistently supports Together We Cope programs that keep families strong. Raisin Rhyme: A Rock Band for Rug Rats is a local band that gives children's concerts, and the musicians have donated their talent for several of our events. The creativity of some of our supporters amazes us. There was a local Realtor who gave us $100 every time he sold a house one year. People attending services at Parkview Church on specific dates leave bags of groceries on the hoods of their cars in the parking lot for Together We Cope to collect. A family hosted a holiday party and required all the guests to bring a toy for our Adopt-a-Child Christmas outreach. An elderly lady bought small stuffed animals and wrapped each one in a tiny afghan she knitted. We also have junior partners who support many of our programs. We depend on the Scouts who run food drives to stock our pantry shelves, and the schoolchildren who collect pencils and erasers for our Back-to-School program. Local schools, from preschool to high school, are instrumental in collecting pajamas for children in need at Christmas. These little sponsors are an integral part of our organization, and often come to our aid when we need them the most. If you'd like to be a partner with Together We Cope, either for a specific program or as a general patron who works with us all year long, let's talk.
