All the Stars were out this night!
Friends and patrons of Together We Cope were the featured stars at the agency's annual dinner dance, A Red Carpet Event. More than 400 people attended the dinner and silent auction at the Odyssey Country Club in Tinley Park, helping to raise funds and focus attention on TWC's mission in the south suburbs. This year, arriving guests were videotaped and interviewed on the red carpet by TWC volunteer Charlotte Burns (shown with microphone at right) and the "show" was projected on a screen in the dining room for guests to enjoy all evening. Two special patrons were honored during this year's dinner. Frank Trombley, president of the TWC board of directors, was recognized for his 16 years of service to the agency. Trader Joe's Grocery Store of Orland Park also was honored for its regular generous contributions to TWC's food pantry. Guests bid on dozens of items, including airline tickets and vacation condo stays, during the auction portion of the evening. Families and friends dined and danced, and generally had a good time for a good cause. TWC officials said the annual dinner dance event is a major fundraiser for the agency. Together We Cope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that offers assistance to families in temporary crisis from 22 south suburban communities. |
