Federal economic stimulus money has begun arriving at state and local government agencies, and some of it has found its way to nonprofit agencies like Together We Cope. The first of several installments of county grant money has come to Together We Cope, which will use the funds to assist residents living in our service area with mortgage and rent needs.

There are firm guidelines to be observed in distributing this money, and it is generally intended as a one-time assistance program. But for those families that qualify, the money can make a big difference in their lives. It can avert the loss of the family home or apartment, which is especially critical at this time of year when cold weather is on the horizon.

Residents of Bremen, Orland, Palos and Worth townships who are interested in learning more about stimulus funds available through Together We Cope can contact Ann Rodgers at (708)633-5040.
