Karen was a very busy full-time Mom before joining Together We Cope in 2007. While raising three daughters, she found herself serving as coach, fashion show coordinator and walkathon coordinator, among other things. She was a teacher for six years before that, and also worked as a sales representative for Xerox Corporation.
“I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work here,” she said. “I wasn’t familiar with all that Together We Cope did, but I was aware of the agency through various articles in the paper. Once I started working here, I was amazed at all that Together We Cope offers.” Karen adds: ‘Once you become involved with Together We Cope you realize quickly that everyone here is invaluable. I am fortunate to work with so many caring and generous individuals. “In my position as fundraising coordinator, I am amazed by our volunteers at the various events, the time and talents that they share with us. So much is needed in order to make our events successful and everyone here steps up to do their part.” Karen’s job puts her in the position of constantly asking contributors for financial support. “I am lucky to deal with many wonderfully generous individuals, service clubs, companies and corporations. They always come through for us. I am continually amazed at how wonderful our donors are,” she said. |
